Where We Left Off...
The plague that Mother Nature cast on the world left nothing in it's wake but ruins and fire. Chaos broke out in the streets and the people began to help the spread of the flames. The Avenue, just like the towns surrounding was left with just gutted buildings and broken families. From the most advanced civilization, there was nothing but animals left. Even man had been broken back into a rabid monster. People killed each other for food, and children were often ripped apart for easy meat. It was a dog-eat-dog world. But amongst the chaos, it was taken upon the leaders of the US to name each district of the country. No longer states, but areas with cheap posted names. The area that surrounded the Avenue became known as District B32, this being dubbed the 'information capital' of the country. But the capital really had nothing left to offer. This became the first problem.
Taking it all in, Purple and Violet took it upon themselves to get the cafe back up and running to serve as the station. However, it didn't seem to fit the new life they all faced and so the next best thing came from it. The Prism Pub and Inn. It was an enormous building that not only acted as a rest stop, but also drew in a different demographic to the Avenue, humans. The flow of people acted as a permanent current for new information, and with this the avenue and the rest of the District seemed to strive in the means of knowledge. Of course, living in the middle of nightmares wasn't going to make that easy. A year into the new lifestyle they all faced, toxins began spilling and nuclear plants began expelling fumes... before long the world was mutating. Trees growing massive and spiny and people growing more feral. Leaders were finally referring to it as the “End of Man”.
And what did that make people do? Panic. There was panic that stretched throughout the entire world, it seemed as if nothing was safe anymore. The once peaceful world was now in complete ruins and the people were just as bad as the mutants. No one was safe from tribes of cannibals or hordes of massive wolves. It caused a dilemma for the Avenue, seeing as the forest surrounded it. With such, it was required that every man, woman, and child carry a weapon at all times. The world needed the colors, they gave the country information and lit up the world, they couldn't let themselves be slowly killed off. It sparked up a more... mighty resistance amongst the humans. Because not only were the colors now hostile in appearance, but they were forced to trust them. Tensions went both ways and before long the Pub like most other businesses in the area were equipped with armed guards with viscous dogs at their disposal.
The world might have stood a chance if Father Time had stepped in, but he seemed far too amused with the terror filling the world to worry with what could come from it. His precious Monochrome Avenue was in ruins and a panic, but he seemed to have abandoned them completely. In fact, he made the years longer, let humans live longer... it didn't matter. Something in the cruel world would kill them anyways, he didn't even have to do his job anymore. It was like a well needed vacation for the Lord of Time, and with such he left it to Mother Nature. The high Mother, however, was none too amused. If anything, she was even more furious with the fact they humans weren't dying faster, but she used this to her advantage. Placing new diseases here and there and spreading new animals amongst the surface. She no longer had to worry about balance in a world without it. Even if it could potentially kill the colors and all the other embodiments that walked the Earth, it didn't seem to matter. Her goal was to eradicate and restart.
Unfortunately for her, the colors just won't let that happen.
